Poster Presentation: The Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) conference (3.14.25)

Three of the BSWSA leadership team members had the incredible opportunity of attending the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) conference in Las Vegas, Nevada over spring break. At the conference, the BSWSA presented a research poster that highlighted the benefits of volunteerism among social work students. The presentations consisted of two rounds, allowing the judges to spend more time talking to presenters about their projects. There was also a workshop available on licensure as well as networking opportunities for students to engage with MSW programs across the country. 

Overall, this was an invaluable experience for the BSWSA. Not only did this conference support student learning and growth as professionals, it also provided networking opportunities with other BSW students and social work professionals across the country. This opportunity would not have been possible without the support of the VCU School of Social Work, particularly Dean Gary Cuddeback, Dr. Stephanie Odera, and Zay Diamond-Tapper. The BSWSA was especially proud to represent VCU and share their work on a national stage, bringing recognition to the dedication and passion of their student-led organization.
