This Fall, the Bachelors of Social Work Student Association (BSWSA) made its debut at VCU’s SOVO Fair. For our newly formed leadership team, it was an exciting opportunity to promote our organization and work together for the first time.
What is the SOVO Fair?
The Student Organization & Volunteer Opportunities Fair is one of VCU’s biggest events, showcasing over 500 organizations. It’s the perfect place for students to discover their community and explore their passions, and we were thrilled to be part of it!
Why Social Work?
At our booth, we introduced the BSWSA’s mission, shared event plans, and posed a question to visitors: Why did you choose social work? Hearing stories of passion, advocacy, and personal connections to the field inspired us and reinforced why our organization exists—to celebrate and support social work students.
A Team Milestone
This was also a milestone for our leadership team, marking our first time collaborating in a big event. From setup to engaging with students, we worked seamlessly and laid a strong foundation for the year ahead.
Looking Ahead
The SOVO Fair was just the start. To everyone who visited our booth: thank you for making it a success! If you missed us, find us on RamsConnect—we’d love to connect. Here’s to an incredible year for BSWSA!
